This boxed set of ten saddle-stitched booklets and folded broadsides is conceived in the spirit of Fluxus and Great Bear, giving artists room to play and experiment. Works include Ann Hamilton’s mirrored concordance of Gertrude Stein and James Joyce using the word “time;” the complete text of Alison Knowles’ House of Dust; a set of alchemical broadsides by Suzanne Treister; “Found Pages from Antinova’s Memoirs” by Eleanor Antin; a photo taxonomy of psychics’ advertisements by Susan Hiller; and a “treatise” on nude film by Fiona Banner. Other contributors include Jane Hammond, Helen Kim, Molly Springfield, and Erica Van Horn. I The 8.5” x 5.5” booklets (ranging from 12-28 pages) have dustjackets, signed and numbered by the artists, and are housed in a hinged wood box. In a signed and numbered edition of 85 plus 15 unnumbered hors commerce for the artists and the publisher. We collaborate to create a special limited edition to accompany most Siglio titles. Every limited edition is conceived in the spirit of the book with which it's released and thus reflects it in design, content and concept. Each Siglio limited edition is an extension of the published work, a further opportunity for audiences to engage with and appreciate it.
A Siglio limited edition might include an artist's multiple, an original work of art, a fabricated object or something wholly unexpected and inventive. Our intention is to make an edition that is imaginative, impeccably executed, fairly priced, and available to the public at large.
Siglio limited editions are valued by both private collectors and institutions, particularly university libraries including the Beinecke Library at Yale, the Danowski Poetry Library at Emory, and Special Collections at Brown, Stanford, Syracuse and the University of Virginia, among others.
